How Did I Deal With Myself and the Pandemic in the Year 2020 ?

So everyone by now knows what we all are facing in the past one year and let me tell you that dealing with this pandemic was not so easy even for me…

*Sigh*

The year 2020 was very challenging for everyone and honestly at first I thought that “maybe we all are going to die… maybe this is the end of the world or at least it’s the end for the entire human race.”

“Life is Unpredictable”

But gradually, after the lockdown was initiated by the government I really had a lot of free time and somewhere in the corner of my heart I was quite happy about it too! I used to chat with my university friends on WhatsApp (as we were Final Year Students — pretty much excited about graduating soon).

Initially I felt happy that I could do things which I couldn’t do for years like painting, reading fictional books, playing games on the computer and so on. I’m an introvert person and I like to stay at home whenever possible but as time kept on passing by boredom started to hit me as well. I couldn’t go outside freely like in the past. Even putting on a mask made me feel restricted to breathe the fresh air.

After 3 months, that is from the middle of June, my online classes started to pick up pace. I started staying up late at night for studies but as it was hot summer in India during these months it started affecting my health as there were no more physical activities to do and I had to deal with some stomach issues. Fortunately it wasn’t that serious so I got well by staying at home. As a result, my mom asked me not to overdo myself in this tough time as the outside world is suffering.

I even had to face a Super cyclone named “Amphan” after which with god’s grace my family and my house were safe but few of my neighbours had to deal with the few damages done to their house. There was no electricity or network connection for more than 2 weeks. This made our lives even more difficult to deal with.

It was for the first time I had realized what the world actually might be without an internet. No idea of what’s going around either. After everything got settled I started focusing more on my studies. I even gave an online examination — sitting at the comfort of my home — which was a first time experience for me. And I have also graduated with my Master’s with flying colors!
